Lightway StopHeat 43
EXTERNAL SHADING OF SKYLIGHTS AGAINST HEAT
Through the winter sun tunnel cover reduces the heat loss of the skylight and saves money on heating the building. From spring to autumn, it prevents 60% of the heat from the sun from penetrating and thus significantly reduces the heat load on the interior of a warehouse or factory. The light transmission is 31%.
Industrial roof sun tunnels are made of polycarbonate.
As polycarbonate is not naturally UV resistant, a microfilm is applied to the surface of the polycarbonate during manufacture to prevent degradation of the polycarbonate by sunlight.
LIGHTWAY StopHeat 43 Beware of covering skylights with non-certified tarpaulins!
Often heat gain passing through a skylight to the interior of the building, is so intense in the summer that the building owner or tenant decides to cover the skylight with various tarps or mats.
LIGHTWAY StopHeat 43
Such actions increase the risk of damage to skylight structure itself in the event of high winds, not to mention the risk of the tarpaulin or mat flying freely in the air and causing damage or injury.
Uncertified tarpaulins do not have fire resistance, and their use can cause the spread of a fire. In the event of a fire, all ventilation and fire dampers that are covered by uncertified tarpaulins thrown over the skylight‘s surface result in these being unable to open. The consequences of such a situation can of course be devastating.
With LWSH43, the fabric itself heats up, preventing heat transfer from the sun to the interior. The fabric is not firmly bonded to the surface of the sun tunnel and therefore does not transfer heat to the interior.
When the surface of the sun tunnel is only painted, the entire surface of the sun tunnel is heated and the heat is easily transferred to the interior of the building.

If skylights are already at the end of their lifespan, removing them and replacing them with Lightway® Sun pipes is easy to implement.
This sophisticated system prevents excessive heating of the interior from sun tunnels and large windows and Skylights, thus significantly reducing energy consumption for cooling and increasing the comfort of the people inside the building.
ROI - return on investment:
Attention to paint coatings. The paint will last on the surface of the skylights for one to two seasons.
